The Wyoming Department of Education publishes test results, school accountability ratings, graduation results, staffing information, enrollment data, and financial reports so the public can review how the education system is performing.
The Wyoming School District Scorecard brings this information together in one place to provide an easy-to-navigate dashboard for parents, taxpayers, and citizens. We did not create the test results, alter the state standards, or change Wyoming’s accountability ratings. The Scorecard uses publicly reported state information and, where noted, simple calculations from reported categories such as enrollment, staffing levels, expenditures, and school accountability counts. The purpose is to make these public results easier to find, compare, and understand.
These are the measures the Legislature established under the Wyoming Accountability in Education Act for evaluating school performance and holding districts accountable. And there is no shortage of claims about Wyoming education. The Scorecard was created to answer one simple question: what do Wyoming’s own publicly reported results show? Once the WDE data was compiled, the results raise serious questions about whether academic outcomes, staffing levels, and taxpayer spending are aligned.
