Bill Description
AN ACT relating to crimes and offenses; providing for a felony penalty for stalking offenses committed against minors; and providing for an effective date.
Notes
This bill strengthens Wyoming’s stalking law by recognizing that when an adult targets a child, the risk and harm are fundamentally greater. It does not expand the definition of stalking or restrict lawful speech. It simply adds adult-on-minor stalking to the existing list of circumstances that elevate stalking from a misdemeanor to a felony, alongside repeat offenses, violations of court orders, and cases involving serious harm. This is a narrow, common-sense update that protects children and supports families by treating predatory conduct with the seriousness it deserves.
